Father Kevin Schroeder named Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel

Father Kevin Schroeder has been named pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church effective Tuesday, June 16. He has served as parochial administrator since June 2014.

"I have completely loved my first year here," he said.

Father Schroeder began thinking about becoming a priest when he was in first or second grade.

He attended a high school boarding seminary in Hannibal, Missouri. He knew as a freshman the Holy Spirit was calling him to the priesthood. After graduation, he attended Kenrick-Glennon Seminary for eight years. During that time he earned a B.A. in Philosophy from St. Louis University and M.Div and M.A. degrees from the seminary.

Father Schroeder was ordained in May 2008. His first assignment was at the Cathedral Basilica. In 2010 he was assigned as associate pastor at St. Joseph-Cottleville. In 2014 he was assigned to serve at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Shrewsbury.

"I feel very blessed to be a part of St. Michael parish and Holy Cross Academy. I hope to be here for many years to come," he said.

He enjoys watching sports and movies. He plays soccer and kickball whenever he gets the chance. His hobbies include working on cars, fixing things and flying drones.

You are in our prayers, Father Schroeder. May God continue to bless you and your vocation as you spread His kingdom here on earth.
