Reggio Pre-K Program

Early ChildhoodReggio Emilia is an early childhood education philosophy that began in Reggio Emilia, Italy. It is a child centered approach where children are seen as capable, curious learners, and education grows from their interests through exploration, creativity, collaboration, and real world investigation. This program is open to children who will be four years old by August 1, and whose families are interested in HCA for K-8 education.

Our goal is to nurture children who are: confident thinkers, creative problem-solvers, strong communicators, and collaborative citizens. Children are seen as active participants in their learning, not passive receivers.

Classrooms are beautiful and calm places full of natural light and materials. They are organized to invite exploration. Materials are open-ended such as wood, wire, clay, fabric, and loose parts. Lessons are inspired by a child’s interest, and the learning materials are provided by teachers to spark questions and natural wonder.
